Dorchester Baptist Church was organized May 3, 1832 with the help of a group of about 40 people.  the Churches first pastor was Rev. Robert King know as Uncle "Bob" The Church was located at Dorchester cross roads. The church began to grow in 1854 when a great revival broke out and 40 people were saved. In 1860 a group pulled out and formed Belton First Baptist Church. Dorchester sponsored Cedar Grove Mission which became Cedar Grove Baptist  church.  Hard times came with World War II and the Depression but the Church stayed together. Over the years the Church had several pastors, some part-time and some full time. In 1962 a new sanctuary was constructed, then in 1971 a new educational building. Other events and Pastor's have bought the Church to the present day.  On November 27, 2005 Dr Glenn Thomason was extended a call to become Pastor.  During the present ministry there have been a number of additions by Baptism and Church letter. Also there have been physical improvements to the property one which was complete renovation of our sanctuary.  In all of this, we give thanks to God and the members of Dorchester Baptist Church.  To God be the glory great things He hath done.
